Useful correspondence usually falls into four kinds: a factual correction, a question about a source, a problem with the site, or a commercial matter. Each is easier to act on when it says exactly where to look.

Tell Us Where to Look.

Four kinds of correspondence, each routed to the right desk. The more precisely a message points at the page, the faster it can be checked.

  1. Factual correction

    Useful details

    • The page address
    • The section or heading
    • The statement or value in question
    • A source that supports the correction, where you have one

  2. Source or reference question

    For questions about

    • Where a measurement came from
    • Which standard or reference supports a value
    • Why values differ between sources

  3. Site issue

    For example

    • A broken link
    • A layout that is hard to read
    • A calculator that behaves unexpectedly
    • A rendering or accessibility problem

  4. Commercial or affiliate

    For

    • Affiliate-program matters
    • Relevant product or resource correspondence
    • Questions about commercial disclosure

Make the Correction Reproducible.

A correction can be checked when it says where the statement is, what it says, and what supports a change. Here is the shape of one.

Why each line matters

  • Page and section say where to look.
  • The claim quotes what the page says, so nothing is lost in paraphrase.
  • The check and the source say why it may be wrong, and on what basis.
  • The action proposes a specific change that can be tested against the source.

Facts Can Be Corrected.

  • Material factual errors are corrected when they are identified.
  • A better source may replace a weaker one.
  • When a standard or specification changes, the pages that depend on it change too.
  • Missing data stays missing rather than being filled with a guess.
  • There is no public corrections log, correction timestamps, review committee or formal peer review.

Commercial Mail Does Not Rewrite the Page.

BenchRoot may receive commercial correspondence about products, tools or affiliate programs. It is read as correspondence — not as a change to what the reference says.

BenchRoot does not run a message form, and nothing you type on this site is sent to BenchRoot.
